I can't afford to buy a new OS nor a new computer. I'm trying to find a way to go back to Vista without losing my information. I tried the other option, which was not recommended, and Windows 7 installed but with problems. When installing the upgrade to Windows 7 and selecting the "Get updates from the internet" although the green bar in the Install Windows is moving, the Green bar at the bottom never gets past the "C" on 1 Collecting Information. I cannot access the Touch Pad settings to change the remember that this will format and wipe the data that you have on your drive ( that has windows 7 on it ) so I suggest to you to have a back up of all your data before you do this. Click the edition that you want to downgrade to and close the application. that's easy, try to get a windows vista pack, then boot then install it on the same drive that has windows 7 on it. Installing a Dell master installer does not complete the installation. Download the Windows 7 Downgrader tool and run with admin privilege. (I waited too long to get the free upgrade to Windows 10).Īfter upgrading t6o Windows 7 my computer is having many problems. I tried it once and was not impressed but my hard drive died so when I got a new hard drive I stayed with Windows Vista.Īfter getting the Alert that Windows was discontinuing support for Vista I decided to upgrade to Windows 7. When I bought my computer (2009) it came with a Windows 7 free upgrade.
